Where is Mormonism mainly located?
Today, the LDS church is most prevalent in the United States, Latin America, Canada, Europe, the Philippines, Africa and parts of Oceania. While Mormons embrace many Christian beliefs, they have their own distinct set of philosophies, values and practices.
Why did the Mormons leave their hometown?
The Mormons, as they were commonly known, had moved west to escape religious discrimination. After the murder of founder and prophet Joseph Smith, they knew they had to leave their old settlement in Illinois. Many Mormons died in the cold, harsh winter months as they made their way over the Rocky Mountains to Utah.
What are the Mormons not allowed to do?

Non-Mormons still aren’t allowed to attend temple weddings. Temple wedding ceremonies are important to Latter-day Saints because their faith teaches that people who are only civilly married have no claim on each other in the afterlife.
Why can’t Mormons drink coffee?
Coffee and tea aren’t allowed partly because they are hot. One theory is that they could theoretically burn you, which would be harmful to the body. It is also worth noting that in recent years, studies have shown that hot drinks may cause cancer.

Church leaders have stated that outside of marriage ” passionate kisses “, defined as “more intense and last[ing] longer than a brief kiss”, and “prolonged kisses that involve the tongue and excite the passions” are “off limits”.

Is divorce allowed? Mormon marriages are different from most marriages because they are considered eternal. However, the church does have a process for annulment and sees divorce as an unfortunately necessary evil.

While many Mormons do avoid caffeinated soft drinks, LDS Doctrine and Covenants – the revelation Mormon prophet Joseph Smith says he received from God — only explicitly forbids the consumption of “hot drinks.”

Mormons are taught not to drink any kind of alcohol (see D&C 89:5–7). Mormons are also taught not to drink “hot drinks,” meaning coffee or any tea other than herbal tea (see D&C 89:9), and not to use tobacco (see D&C 89:8).
